Connection between the Republic of Niger and Kato Trade Inc.
Kato Trade has a close friendship with Mr. Illo Kaza Ibrahim, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Niger in Tokyo, and has been discussing various ways that Kato Trade can contribute to the development of the country.
As mentioned in the previous article, Kato Trade supplied Niger with our products such as boxer shorts and inner T-shirts in April this year.
These are products that have been end of sales. We provided it to make effective use of what would otherwise be disposed as industrial waste.
Hygiene environment in Niger
Children are most directly affected in a society with poor public health, such as lack of clean and safe water and undeveloped sewage system.
The death toll of children under the age of 5 in Niger is 84 per 1000 (2 in Japan), (from UNICEF World Children’s Paper 2019).
The number above also includes various reasons such as undernourishment and various infectious diseases.
The development of social infrastructure to solve these problems is too large and it is very difficult to solve them overnight.
Ice project
Niger with the above problems. The conclusion we came to after thinking about what we, Kato trade could do, regardless of size, was the “Ice Project.”
Improving the preservation method of food that each household eats every day helps to improve hygiene environment in the country.
We would like to improve the quality of daily food preservation and help improve the sanitary environment in situations where there is no refrigerator, or refrigerator but electricity is frequently cut off.
I will report on the progress of the project from now on.
Next time, I will introduce the ice project in a little more detail, so please look forward to it!
